ly, the author reflects on theological rationalisation of human rights as present in Church documents, starting with the encyclical Pacem in Terris, and the models of theological justification of human rights in contemporary German theology (Huber/Tödt, Saberschinsky, Sander) is presented. Thirdly, the basic theological-anthropological rationale of human rights is formulated. In the conclusion, the paper notices a tension among theological rationalisation on human rights and the reality of cultural and religion plurality.
